In order to move the car from the first piece of footage to the other, the car requires rotoing.
As shown in the picture above the car is split in several rotos. These being the main body (red), the wheels (green) the boot lid (blue) and the aerial and boot lid support (white).
The next step is merging the two pieces together. To do this a merge node is needed. With the A going to the car roto and the B going to the background.
In order to move the car around the new background, a transform node needs to be read in.
Using the transform node the car can positioned anywhere on the new background.
That's the car now positioned in the background, the next step is colour correcting. To begin, a colour correct node is read in.
The colour correct node is placed on the same branch as transform node.
The next blog post will include details on how to roto and include the shadow (along with colour correcting it) and a method on how change the background behind the windows (notice that when looking through the windows the grass from the cars previous background is still visible.
